Close to 300 walkers, including 20 survivors joined us
over two days. We saw walkers from all generations and backgrounds, mothers
and daughters, husbands and wives, and many groups of friends. Even though
it rained, the walkers’ enthusiasm and determination shined through.
In the end, Mother Nature cooperated for the closing ceremonies. Here is
a glimpse of the fun we had.

Hundreds of Long Islanders came out to support the Long
Island 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk. Over 300 volunteers and crewmembers
kept our walkers going strong in the 80-degree weather. Rest stops
along the route provided refreshments, entertainment and encouragement
to over 250 walkers as they raised awareness and funds for the fight
against breast cancer. Look at the memories from the second annual
LI2DAY Breast Cancer Walks.

In our inaugural Long Island 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk, over 230 participants raised more than $345,000. Long Islanders of all ages and backgrounds came together for this worthwhile cause. Even though the weather was rainy and cold, it was remarkable how the walkers persevered. Nothing could dampen the spirit and goodwill associated with this event – not even the weather or make shift lunches in the street. See
pictures from our first year.
